Once again we hosted this year’s hugely successful Manchester Society of Architects Annual Dinner held on Friday 16th November 2018!
This years event was held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester city centre and was attended by 350 architects, clients and developers from across the city along with representatives from the RIBA North West and the RIBA President elect, Alan Jones who gave a welcome speech to guests. Ged Couser (BDP) our President of 2018 handed over the President title to Nick Moss (SixTwo) at our recent AGM and Nick gave an introduction to his manifesto for the next two years which looks set to be an exciting time for the society!
The annual event is an important date in the architectural calendar providing an opportunity for practices to catch up with old friends and colleagues and to meet new people in the architectural community. The dance floor was packed for the night with live entertainment provided by the Jukebox Band. The night was packed full of fun with dancing, casino, caricaturist, magician and live music all evening which we think all who attended will agree came together to make it a fantastic and enjoyable evening for all attending!
Our raffle on the evening raised just over £1800 – a fantastic donation to our charity partner Mustard Tree in Manchester, and could help provide 7244 meals through their Food Club for individuals and families living in food poverty.
A big thank you to Zoe from Seven Architecture for all her hard work in organising the event, the guys at Agency Spring for their help and support on the marketing and promotion, and Rob McGinnes from Hive Architects for his help with all the finances!
We look forward to you joining us next year already!
